The EAHS Spanish Club celebrates diversity! We welcome all students who want to learn more about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language. Given our growing Hispanic community, it is beneficial to all of our students to dig deeper and equip themselves with the knowledge to connect with all community members. As a club, we meet once a month and share Hispanic foods, celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, view movies, learn about the dances and traditions, create a Hispanic themed homecoming parade float, attend field trips to widen our horizons, create a scrapbook to document our activities, and enjoy each other's camaraderie. Historically, EAHS has also attended the Louisiana High School Spanish Clubs Association (LAHSSC) annual convention, a fun-filled weekend event full of academic competitions held in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, LAHSSC has not been able to hold this event for the past two years, but we plan to attend it as soon as we can. In the past 8 years, this event has been a main component of our monthly meetings where we prepare for competitions and rehearse for presentations.
